Moderna Shot #2

I live in the suburbs of Houston. Due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to keep the original appointment for my second vaccination for the Moderna shot. I was able to go all the way down to Corpus Christi and get my shot as long as I was able to show proof, that I had already received the first shot. Thank you Nueces County Health Department and being so professional and having your process together. I can only imagine your volunteers frustrations and the exposure they experienced in doing this mass vaccination day. You all are definitely the heroes in my book!

I got the shot at 9:08am on Saturday and drove all the way home to Houston. I had no issues. I started to feel the effects around 10pm that night. It was just a soreness in my arm. I did take ibuprofen every four hours after the injection. I woke the next morning very lethargic. I did experience a low grade fever. Taking a hot shower was like taking an ice bath. I couldn't stop shivering and the water falling on my body was slightly uncomfortable. The OTC meds helped the side effects. But here I am at 9 pm on Sunday night and I feel achy.

I am going to hydrate and try to be positive and thankful I was able to receive my second vaccination with no issues. Such was not the case here in the Houston area. I understand the method and desire to keep your original appointment set for the second vaccine, but shit happens in life and adjustments can and need to be made. Believe me I will never return to this particular clinic for another vaccination or for any of my medical needs if I can help it.

So I am going to take my medication and drink some fluids and get a good nights rest and pray for the best tomorrow. My recommendation to everyone is vaccinate or don't vaccinate. It's a choice. All choices come with responsibilities. Be safe everyone, wash your hands and mask up. I love you all! Teltshick Like it Is - Amanda
